The quilt at the Smiithsonian

The steps for making a pinecone quilt are very intense. 

The exhibit https://americanart.si.edu/exhibitions/black-women-quilters  will be up until June 22nd. Betty's pinecone quilt is the first quilt you see when you enter the Smithsonian American Art Museum Renwick Gallery.

Additional facts The quilt 50 pounds, measure 104 x 109 inches and has over 4,000  4 inch squares which are each one at a time folded into a  triangle and each hand sewn separately onto the base sheet.
